Catalyst California (formerly Advancement Project California), alongside partners, dismantles racial injustice and redesigns systems for access and equity. They do this by shifting and building power with movement leaders in communities of color who are making real change. With the collective impact of community, data, and policy, they make the California Dream inclusive and available to all.
The American Civil Liberties Union of Southern California defends the fundamental rights outlined in the United States Constitution and the Bill of Rights. These include the right to freedom of speech and assembly, the right to religious freedom, due process of law, equality before the law, and the right to privacy. The ACLU SoCal also relies on state constitutional provisions and federal and state laws that further these and similar rights.
This collaboration between Catalyst California and ACLU SoCal focused on the impact of traffic stops on over-policed communities and advocated for solutions to community safety.
