About Our Client
Arizmendi is a worker owned bakery that values social justice and local community. With a mindfulness for natural resources, they provide quality, affordable foods and create a democratic, supportive workspace. While providing workers with a sustainable living and ongoing skill development they model and support alternative economies and cooperative ownership.
When the beloved worker-owned coop bakery Arizmendi opened their Valencia Street location, Design Action Collective created a unique logo to feature the ingredients of their famous sourdough pizza, a spatula for dishing out slices cleverly hidden in the negative space of the “A”, and a celebration of the papel picado so often seen in San Francisco’s Mission District where the bakery is located.
The logo was later adapted for the San Rafael location.
