Design for the 2012 Election: Visual Impact and Victories for the New Majority

December 6, 2012 |  By josh |  Categories: Case Studies

Design Action was busy this past election cycle supporting a number of grassroots organizations doing groundbreaking electoral work. Some  turned out progressive student voters. Some exposed corporate campaign contributions. And many did door-to-door organizing, building voter blocs — on a local and state-wide level — made up of progressive working-class people of color, who now form a majority in most of the nation. Through these strategic campaigns, launched during this major demographic shift, a number of our clients were able to win significant victories, such as winning decisive votes for Obama in both Florida and Virginia, and winning highly contested local races securing progressive political power in both San Francisco and Oakland, CA. We are proud of the victories that each of these organizations fought hard for, and won, this election cycle, and were honored for the opportunity to work with them. Here’s a sampling of some of the work we did…

Florida New Majority

We designed and developed new websites for Florida New Majority and Florida New Majority Education Fund who protected the right to vote and mobilized tens of thousands of working-class people of color voters across the state. See article.
