The California Family Health Council (CFHC) contracted Design Action Collective to develop the visual identity and website design for their sexual health education campaign targeted at California teenagers: TeenSource.org. Through this website, they provide online tools such as a dynamic health clinic finder, “HookUp” tips sent via SMS text messages, sexual health education resources focused on STD prevention and contraceptives, and access to free condoms through mail order along with a mapping system to find nearby clinics where free condoms are available.
Design Action Collective worked with CFHC to develop the TeenSource.org logo and identity system, the information architecture and visual design for their website, along with designs for their associated Condom Access Project. We partnered with our friends at Rootid to program the website in the open source content management system Drupal.
Following the launch of TeenSource.org and the Condom Access Project, social conservatives nationwide have worked themselves into a furor, outraged that the publicly funded program provides teens with access to vital sexual health education and contraceptives.
