Halt the Harm created an outreach & education service in partnership with the Mountain Watershed Association and Netcentric to help residents to understand their legal rights in areas affected by existing and proposed hydraulic fracturing gas extraction (or “fracking”) sites in Pennsylvania.
The bureaucracy and lack of transparency rampant in the extraction industry can make it hard for residents to understand the decisions being made or feel empowered to do anything about it. This pamphlet functions as a flowchart quiz, which takes the reader on a journey to discover facts about fracking, their proximity to it, and steps available to take in organizing against the destructive industry in their backyard. The “finish lines” point to the appropriate information and resources on the back of the pamphlet.
